Applying for Rental:
A Parental Garantor form must be signed and received by Bayside Student Rentals prior to us distributing individual room keys.
Do we do credit checks?
You betcha! We perform credit checks on all co-signers.
When is move in/out day?
Move in day is the first of the month. All students will have access to the residences after 4:00pm on move in day. Move out day is the last day of the month. All students must vacate by noon and return their key to our office. Please ensure that ALL BELONGINGS are removed including garbage.
When is garbage day?
Garbage day varies depending on the address. The time and day will be posted at each residence. Please ensure that you use the recycling blue boxes provided and take out the trash the night before garbage day so you don't forget. Barrie has a one bag limit so you'll need to recycle all those pizza boxes. You can purchase additional garbage bag stickers from Sobeyes, A&P, Zehrs and Jays Variety in the Duckworth & Grove St. plaza near the College. Any trips to the dump will be billed equally between the students in the house.
When is my rent due?
Your rent is due on the first day of the month. Please ensure that we have your post-dated checks prior to moving in. There will be a $25 per fee for all NSF or late cheques.
D'oh!, I locked myself out of my room (not again)?
You'll have to sleep on the couch or floor, which ever you prefer. You can call us between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday. We'll gladly open your door during office hours, but not after the designated times. If its a real emergency please have $20 cash ready. Between 12 midnight and 8 am it will cost you $40.
Do I have to mow the lawn or shovel snow?
No to mowing the lawn. Yes to shovelling snow. Especially if you don't want to be late for classes.
Do I have to Clean the House?
Yes you do! But thats only if you want to get along with your roomates and live in harmony. Clean your own mess. Wash your own dishes, manually or use the dishwasher. We suggest that you arrange a house cleaning schedule for all common areas. Do not leave dirty dishes or empty beer bottles/cans under your bed or anywhere in your room. This creates unwanted aromas. For a modest fee we can arrange to have your common areas cleaned for you.
What do I do when?........
- The basement is flooded:.....Call us Right Away!
- Toilet is plugged:.....Use the plunger.
- My roomates are driving me crazy:..... Georgian College offers conflict management courses on campus.
- The stove or fridge doesn't work:...... Please check to see if it's plugged in. If it still doesn't work, please give us a call.
- A service technician or city worker shows up:..... Please give them our number and have them call us.
- A friend needs a room:..... Please call us or pass along our contact information.
- The cops show up:.....don't do the crime and you won't do the time.
